"Joseph Farr was born in Cummington, Massachusetts February 4, 1775. He died in Manlius Village, New York on December 2, 1845. His father, Joseph, Sr. was the first innkeeper in Cummington (1771) who died there on February 24, 1796. Joseph Farr was a silversmith by trade and a manufacturer of mathematical instruments."
