Benjamin Pike, Jr. was born in New York City in 1809 and died near Astoria, Long Island in 1864.  He was the eldest son of Benjamin Pike, Sr., optician.  From 1831-1841 New York City directories list Benjamin Pike & Son, (Benjamin Sr. and Benjamin Jr.) opticians, 12 Wall, 166 Broadway.  From 1841-1843, Benjamin Pike & Sons (Benjamin Sr., Benjamin Jr., and Daniel) 166 Broadway.

The following New York City directories list:   1843-44 Pike, Benjamin Jr., optician at 294 Broadway;  1845-46 Pike, Benjamin Jr., Manufacturer of Philosophical and Optical Instruments, microscopes, telescopes, magnets and electrical machines of every variety for medical use, 294 Broadway;  1846-47 Pike, Benjamin Jr., optician 294 Broadway;  May 1, 1858 Pike, Benjamin Jr., optician 294 Broadway, h. Astoria;  May 1, 1864 Pike, Benjamin Jr., optician, 294 Broadway, h. Astoria.
